Hi everyone,
Here is the case. I hope someone can help me understanding the mechanism.

Principal applicant landed on 10-09-2019. Collected BRP and left.
Dependants landed on 01-10-2019 collected BRPs and left.
They landed back on 15-12-2019 and since than are in UK.

ILR granted on 15-10-2024. What date they can apply for citizenship?

If no one is married to a British citizen they can all apply after 1 year after getting their ILR. Visa route is irrelevant.

Adults can apply for naturalisation 12 months after the ILR grant, i.e. on or after 16.10.2025 - online form AN.

Children can apply for registration as British now - online MN1.

Or you could apply altogether on 16.10.2025.

Thank you for the reply. I am a bit lost on where it says on the date of your application 05 years back on that date you should be in the country to count your complete five years. Can you please advise on this specifically?

So based on above we can apply on 16-10-2025. To mention all are adults and no children.

If you are applying under section 6(1), you must have been in the UK exactly 5 years before your application was received. For example, if your application is received on 05/01/2022 you should have been physically present in the UK on 06/01/2017.

Yes this is correct - as I said, being you all adults you will need to wait an extra year on ILR so the dates you came to the UK are not relevant.

So my understanding is date of arrival is not relevant if we complete one year after obtaining the ILR and can apply a day after the ILR anniversary.

Date of arrival is not relevant, though it will be asked for in the application.
Naturalisation is not an immigration application, it has it's own rules and requirement under the British Nationality Act.
