UK CITIZENSHIP APPLICATION: Questions

Hello,
I am in the process of completing the citizenship application for my wife and I am stuck on the following question;
Have you made any previous UK immigration applications in the UK or abroad?
I'm not sure what to answer here. It's no. Or is it yes because we've applied for FLR(M) and ILR(M)?
Proof of living in the UK for Mrs S ****** for 5 years if applying in your own right or 3 years if applying as the spouse of a British Citizen
Is her Pakistani passport more than enough? Her old and new one? It will show that she has not travelled outside of the UK since entering the UK.
Thanks,
J

YES - why would it be no?

Yes.

Yes all of that. Plus the Leave to Enter the UK.

Passport should suffice. Old and new covering the duration of her residency.
Thanks,
J

Thank you both! I will get that sorted out this week.
I suspect it will be the same as before, scanning every page of the passport, both old and new.

On the referee form where they need to sign it, do I need to take a passport photo or can it be one you take yourself, print it out and attach it to the referee form?

It can be a picture you take yourself but it has to respect the requirements for a passport photo.

Thank you. I'll probably just go and get the wife to use one of the photo booths to take a picture.

I took it by myself for both naturalisation and passport photo and it was fine - of course you can get it done at a passport booth too.

Hello,
When filling out the application it kept on showing a notification banner message stating the following;
Important
Biometric residence permit (BRP) holders should provide their BRP details, including expired BRPs.
On the 'Reasons for not providing identity documents' page of your application, enter your BRP number and expiry date.
This will help us to process your application.
I've not seen this anywhere on the application (Reasons for not providing identity documents page).
Is this where you upload the documents to the TLSContact website?
Thanks,
J

The application may not have all sections it mentions. However why aren't you just providing your BRP, even if expired? If you don't have it explain in a cover letter, as the section is missing on the application.

I've uploaded a scanned document of the BRP cards, old and new. Will that be enough?
Or should I write a cover letter and also explain it in there just to be on the safe side?

I don't understand what is there to explain? You are providing it.

I thought you meant that the section is missing on the application form so mention it in a cover letter.
I've uploaded the BRP cards as evidence on TLSContact so that should be fine then.

You would just need to explain if you weren't providing the BRP but you are, not useful to explain the faults in the application process to them.

I agree, thank you for the clarification.

When I am scanning the referee documents with the glued picture attached - you can't see the face on it, does that matter?
It's still black and white and 300 DPI scanning guidelines, right?

Ah my bad, it was the Windows Scan app that was causing the problem, I've used the original scanner app, scanned it in black and white (300dpi) and can see the applicant's photograph.

My wife's biometric was today, it was swift and didn't take anymore than 10 minutes. In and out.
Now let the wait begin!
I hope we hear back quickly so this is all done with. It's been a long, tiring journey!
Good luck to everyone else!

My wife's Citizenship ceremony is on the 3rd of April next month.
We are looking at going away on holiday during the Easter holidays. Now that she has UK Citizenship, is she allowed to travel out of the country and still use her BRP card (now online), or would I need to apply for something else in the meantime?
I'll submit her British passport application once we're back from holiday.

No. You need to apply for her UK passport, as her BRP is no longer valid and won't be accepted and she will not be eligible for an ETA. Reschedule the ceremony after you are back from your holiday.

So if she rescheduled the citizenship ceremony for when were back from holidays, will she still be able to travel out of the country on her BRP?
What is the timeline for applying for a British passport?

You are only British once you attend the ceremony. Untill then, you simply hold ilr.
Passport takes about 3 weeks.

She can travel with a evisa. BRPs won't be accepted anymore after 31 March.

Ah, so eVisas can still be used. That is good to know.
Decisions to make.
Thank you.
