Dear all, my British citizenship was approved and I will apply for the British passport soon. I was born abroad and after 1983. I am planning to send documents below as part of the application, are they enough? Do I need to send a birth certificate? We do not have birth certificates in my home country
  • naturalisation or registration certificate
    my current passport
The passport I used to come the UK is cancelled and I have a new passport. Do I need to send this first (cancelled) passport?

If you can advise I would be grateful. thanks

Congratulations!
You are now a British citizen, don't worry about 1983 ... no birth certificate required!
All you need is
- your certificate
- your current passport
- any other passport (i.e. the one you entered UK with).
Good luck with the application, processing seems to be fast at the moment.

Thank you very much! The passport I used to enter the UK is now cancelled but I still have it. Should I send this cancelled passport along with my current passport too? Thanks

You may as well send it - can't do any harm.
HMPO ask for the passports to check that the name used in all documents is the same.

In principle you don't have to because it was cancelled. I was in your same situation and sent mine just for peace of mind and it all went well.
