Applying for citizenship for spouse and kids separatley

Hello,
I just want to clarify one of my queries.
My self , my wife and kids have ILR and it has been more than 1 year since we got ILR.
I am planning to apply for citizenship this year. My wife and kids are not planning to apply with me this year. They plan to apply next year.
My question was:
1. When my wife and spouse apply what is the application process?
2. Do they have to specify my reference (hopefully I will get the citizenship by that time) when applying for citizenship.
2. Is the application process complicated when they apply separately ?

Citizenship applications are separate to begin with.
If your wife applies after you became citizen then she can either use section 6(2) and then she only needs to show residence for 3 years or 6 (1) and then the residence requirement is 5 years.
With the children a copy of British passport and/or naturalization certificate of a parent should be sufficient.

Thank you very much for your reply.
Me and my wife are here in UK for past 5 years and it has been 1 years since she got ILR.
So she can take the section 6(2) route . I can't find a separate application for this route and I believe it is the same application which I did for my citizenship :

There's only one form for adult naturalisation, AN (it's not part of immigration rules!.
You don't have to request section 6(2) or 6(1) - it's evident by the information you provide, plus your husband's passport and marriage certificate.

The application is the same. Once your wife answers that she is married to a British citizen she will be asked to provide the details for section 6(2). Nothing to worry about as you need to apply and get accepted before your wife can apply as spouse of a British citizen.

Regarding Referee while applying for citizenship with family

Hello,
I am applying for citizenship along with my wife and 2 kids. I have concluded on 2 referees who are family friends of ours. So they know us. I have the following queries :
1. Can we have the same referees for me and my wife.
2. For children is it possible for both above referees to be the second referee for children. The first referee for children will be their respective teachers.
Can any body comment whether this arrangement is ok ?
Regards
luther

Yes as long as the referees respect the requirements and are not married or related to each other.
