Eligibility to Apply for Naturalization

Hi
Me -
I became British Citizen -2021
My wife
- She still holds an Indian passport.
She obtained Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in 2019.
She was away from the UK due to family circumstances.
Dates for ref
Holiday Start Date Return to UK No Of Days Notes
22-Feb-21 23-Feb-23 731 - Child Born in India
21-Mar-24 13-Aug-24 145 - Parents Health
We have a child Born in India after I became British Citizen so we need to apply for her MN1 Form separately.
Question - based on the above information is My wife eligible to apply for her Naturalization to became British Citizen?
Appreciate any help / response

Your wife needs to wait until 2026 as she had to be in the UK at the beginning of her qualifying period which lasts for 3 years. As she was away until Feb 2023 she will become eligibel to apply at the end of Feb 2026.

1. My child is eligible for MN1 (register as British Citizen) since I am a citizen?
2. Is there any other restriction before 2026 that we need to full fill. for e.g. she cannot be outside UK for more than 90 days etc.

1. If the child was born after you became British, the child is British by descent. No need for form MN1.
2. Last 12 months before apply yes, no more than 90 days absence.

She can't be outside the country for more than 270 days in the 3 years from Feb 23 to Feb 26. Plan your trips accordingly considering she has already been abroad for 145 days. Also the 90 days outside the UK in the last year before applying must be respected.

No. Your child is British by descent. Apply for a passport.
