Dear Friends,
Good day.
Please can you share your views / experience, how long does it take to get an additional UK passport, as I already have one & I need to travel quite a lot due to business reasons. Also is it advisable to have additional passport or get the existing passport renewed? The reason of my question is that I am currently working abroad. Also can I get the additional passport in 1 day premium appointment, please.
Existing passport is having only 6 pages remaining, however validity is still upto Sep 2027.
thanks in advance

Refer to the HMPO guidance for issuing additional passport:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... accessible
Existing passports are not renewed, you apply for a new passport.

Good day friends,
I made an online application for first additional passport in UK, indicating I live in UK. I am not in UK, however I did this as I don't get any posts from UK on my abroad address. To avoid any hassles of me not getting the passport on abroad address, I made in country application. Also I have to travel on business a lot so made application for additional passport. I have an address in UK which is my house but rented out.
The documents are not yet sent in post as my refree asked if this is OK to make this application.
Is it OK or should I withdraw this application & make application out of country?
If I need to withdraw, what is the process to withdraw the application, please?
Please advise,
Many thanks in advance

Try calling the helpline. You will possibly lose the money. I agree that you shouldn't declare you live in the UK if you don't.

Thanks friends. I have applied in India on 9th May & payment by HMPO taken on 16th May 2025.
Can I presume that passport application is approved & will be sent soon? If yes, any idea of timeline please?

Your payment being taken doesn't mean that your application was successful. It seems that current waiting times are around 3 weeks.
