Two valid passports, which one should I use in the application?

Hi guys,

I am currently doing my application for the UK citizenship. I do hold two passports from my origin country. One is expiring this year in July, the second one was issued in September last year. They let me to have both of them as I told them I need the old one for my application. However, I am not sure which one I should use for my application? I used the old one for all my trips out of the UK in past 5 years, and it’s “linked” to my settled status, as I haven’t updated it with new one. But I am bit afraid to apply with the old one as they can probably see I have newer passport. I haven’t used the new passport at all, I was just waiting for the old one to expire. Also, in the application it’s not asking me about my previous travel documents, so if I apply with the new one, will they be able to see mine travel history from old passport? I guess I can scan it and just upload it with the rest of documents, if I will apply with my new passport?

Thank you for the answers.

I would use the most current (last) passport, and declare the old one as required.
You declare all your absences on the application - UKVI can double-check your declaration on their systems.
There's no reason this should be an issue.

Just scan both passports for proof of residence and use the most recent as your ID.
