When exactly to apply for Naturalisation

Good morning!

Just two questions.

1. We are going to apply in the mid of May 2025 for naturalisation process AN (my wife and me) and for registration process MN (my 8 years old son).
Route: 5years skilled worker visa vignette date 12.05.2019
ILR for all of us 12.05.2024
The question is - can we fill the form and submit application in the mid of April 2025 and book biometric appointment in the mid of May 2025, uploading all docs required for the application by that time?
It’s not clear from what date the application day is considered? Is it the application submission and payment date? Or the day of the biometric appointment?
If we can’t do that, can the application starts to be filled 2-3 weeks before eligibility date (mid May 2025)?

2. How old documents can be? Especially referee signed forms, can they be signed 1month in advance?

Thank you very much for the answers!

1. Application date is the day you submit/pay online. You can start filling in the online form before then and save until you are ready to submit.
2. Referee forms should be dated recently so 1 month before is fine.

Good morning,

for the referee form, I guess we can still use the same form for AN1 or MN1 applications? (just the name on the link states somehow MN1):

https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... on_MN1.pdf

The link is from gov.uk, this is the link provided once you complete the application and made the payment I guess. Just asking as wanted to prepare the forms and sign them in advance before the submission of the application!

Thanks.

Thanks for the information!

We are going to submit the following documents, could you please tell whether this the full list:

1. Two referee declarations (for each member of family);
2. Travel history for the last 5 years - Passport copies (for each member of family);
3. English certificate (wife and me);
4. A letter of consent from parent for citizenship application (for a son (under 18));
5. Marriage certificate (wife and me);
6. Life in the UK test? (wife and me);
7. Copy of ILR BRPs (for each member of family);
8. Do I have to inform about Parking tickets, had just one, almost 5 years ago. Not sure, as normally from I read in forums, most people do not declare it. Agencies during the application for Visa and ILR were saying it's not needed. Only speeding tickets... And minutes ago read AN guideline (p.23) where it states:
Fixed penalty notices such as those issued under the coronavirus Regulations, or for traffic
offences such as speeding or parking tickets must also be disclosed, although will not
normally be taken into account unless you have failed to pay and there were criminal
proceedings as a result, or you have received multiple fixed penalty notices in a short
space of time.
Should I be bothered about that?

Thanks again!

5. Marriage certificate (wife and me); Not required
6. Life in the UK test? (wife and me); Just fill in the reference number in the form (I think there's a box for that)
7. Copy of ILR BRPs (for each member of family); ok
8. Do I have to inform about Parking tickets, had just one, almost 5 years ago. Not sure, as normally from I read in forums, most people do not declare it. Should I be bothered about that? Just declare - no impact as such as as per guidance. Note that naturalisation isn't an immigration application therefore I'd go with the AN guidance.

Thanks again!
