Hi , I've applied for my child first british passport from Hyd, India , The applicaiton reference I got at VFS

starts with HMP/HYD/**** .

But I'm not able to track the application with this reference , it's saying invalid , is there any other reference number I should be getting which starts with GWF ?

I think you need to contact your VFS office for details of this.
Here in the UK (and overseas?) for online applications HMPO ref numbers start with "PEX".
