Naturalisation supporting documents

Hi,

I have a few questions regarding the supporting documents for my naturalisation application and would really appreciate your help in ensuring I understand everything correctly.

Background:
I moved to the UK in 2019 on a Tier 2 (General) visa as a software developer, providing an English language certificate (IELTS, B2 level) at that time. I later extended my visa under the Skilled Worker route in 2022 and was granted Indefinite Leave to Remain in 2024. I submitted my naturalisation application on 11th April and have booked my biometric appointment for 12th April.

Documents I am providing as supporting evidence:

Old (stamped pages) and current passport (all pages)
Life in the UK Test Unique Reference Number
IELTS certificate (B2)
P60s from 2019 to 2024
Most recent tenancy agreement
Two referee declarations

Questions:

1. English Language Requirement:
I’m not sure if I included my IELTS certificate in my ILR application, and as the certificate was issued in 2018, I’d like to confirm whether it’s still considered valid for the naturalisation application.

2. Proof of Living in the UK:
I have all P60s from 2019–2024, but the 2024/25 one won't be available until 30th April 2025. I’ve also just moved to a new address as of 1st April 2025. Since I don’t have any bills or council tax in my name yet, would providing my new tenancy agreement be sufficient to cover this recent period?

Additionally, is it necessary to include previous tenancy agreements? In some cases, bills were included in the rent, so I don’t have council tax or utility bills in my name for those properties.

3. Employment Letter:
I have been with the same employer for the past six years without changing jobs. Would it be advisable (or necessary) to include a letter from my employer? Could it strengthen my application? What should be in the letter?

4. Additional Proof of Residency:
Are there any other documents I should consider submitting as proof of residency, or am I possibly overcomplicating this part of the application?

5. Referees:
One of my referees is a Software Architect and Team Lead, and the other works in IT Service Management. I wasn’t able to find these specific titles in the list of acceptable professions — would these roles be considered acceptable?

Please let me know if there are any other documents I might be missing or anything else I should be aware of.

Get your employee HR to write a letter confirming you work for them giving details of dates and job.
That’s all you need for residency . No need to strengthen your case. No bills contracts etc. it’s not immigration.

The list is the Bible, we can't edit here.

Please let me know if there are any other documents I might be missing or anything else I should be aware of. Minimal documents required.

You don't need P60s, tenancy agreements or employment letters to apply for naturalisation!

For proof of residency (or living in the UK), the stamped pages on your passport covering the qualifying period will fulfil this requirement. The absences you manually input in the application also covered this.

There's no employment requirement for naturalisation, employment letters are not required.

This is a very straightforward application, the requirements are minimum.

I understand that loading a bunch of documents is a concept that many bring from previous immigration applications, but for citizenship this is different (it's not an immigration application). The general advice is to keep the application as simple as it is without loading unnecessary documents. This makes the job of caseworkers easier and I firmly believe also makes the applications more straightforward.

Thank you all of you for your response.

So here is the updated list of documents I will upload based on what I understand from you guys:

1- Passport (current + old)
2- BRP
3- Life in the UK Test pass number
4- English Language certificate
5- Referee forms

And my assumption is I need to select the following option for passports.

This list of categories is not helpful....
Load everything under "Other" - every file/document will be looked at by caseworkers.
This has been asked ever since applications have been put online.
