Naturalization application - excessive absence

Dear all,

I submitted an application for naturalization and BRP on 7th and 10th January, 2025 respectively. It has been 3 months and I haven't received any decision or request for extra evidence yet.

I had 329 days of absence in 5 years qualifying period and 94 days of absence in the final year, thus exceeding 90 days rule by 4 days. I requested for discretion and mentioned in my application that the absence was because of my trip to my home country for my medical operation (49 days) and subsequently my father's medical operation (18 days).

Should I write to them asking for update or should I wait for 3 more months (6 months from the date of submission of BRP).

Also, there has been a few updates; I have secured a funded PhD in UK and I am registering a company in UK to develop a product, both which necessitates my long-term stay in the UK. Can and should I provide this additional information to the Home Office to show my link and future intension to UK and thus strengthening my application. If yes, then how?

Thanks in advance for you help.

Standard processing time is 6 months, sometime sooner and sometimes longer. You won't get any type of update before then.

Your absences are not an issue either. You are overthinking!! Just wait patiently to hear back.
