hello all hope you are well.

We are approaching the end to the extension of the Spouse visa.

I am a British citizen, born in England and my is currently on the extended Spouse visa.

Is there anyway she is able to go straight to Citizenship, rather than applying for ILR and then immediately applying for Citizenship?

Just seems like yet another money scam to extort from us.

Thanks in advance

There's no shortcut to naturalisation - ILR is required, being British won't make a difference.
The Home Office sets the fees which includes a subsidy for their operations ....

For all adult naturalisation applications (as opposed to child registration applications), ILR is a minimum requirement that must be met.

And, as alterhase58 has mentioned above, the Home Office fees (and the IHS, which is ring-fenced to the NHS) are seen as a source of revenue by the government and budgeted for accordingly.
