Naturalisation application and Ecctis letter (code)

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all doing well. I will be applying for naturalisation in a few months and I have a couple of quick questions about the Ecctis letter. Apologies if any of these are obvious:

1) Does Ecctis provide a PDF letter with the reference code on it, or do they only provide the code? I am asking because the naturalisation process mentions an “Ecctis letter” as a required document but the form does not seem to have a specific section for just a code.

2)Does the Ecctis letter or reference code have an expiry date?

3) How recent does the letter need to be? For example, if I get it at the end of June, would it be OK to use for an application I submit at the end of September this year?

I know some of these might seem like simple questions, but I am really nervous about getting everything right. Thanks so much in advance for any help!

I am not aware of the details of how to get an Ecctis letter, but I believe they generally send you a letter to certify that your degree is equivalent to a UK degree, if that is what you apply for.

Many thanks. I guess this is the case. The best way to figure out is to start the Ecctis process and see what happens 🧐

You would receive the confirmation and on the application portal, you will be able to download it. There is also a code, if its to verify a education qualification etc it does not expire.
