Good morning, hope you are doing well!

I need some advice or information on the below:

1. My son born in UK on 07-Sept-2022
2. I got my ILR approval email on 29-May-2024 (Got My ILR BRP on 1st week of June-2024)
3. My wife will be eligible to apply for ILR next year i.e. Aug-2025

My query is shall I go ahead and apply for my son's British passport now as one of the parent have ILR, I am not 100% sure about the process of steps to be followed?

Please could you provide me the details on the process?

Son was born before you gained ILR so is not yet British and can't apply for a passport.

No there is not. Citizenship is not an immigration application.

Anywhere between a couple of months up to 6 months, sometimes longer.

There is no priority option for nationality applications which are not immigration.

In relation to my previous post above.

I am trying to fill the application form for my son and I got the below question while filling the application:

Are you relying on your parent's permanent residence (either as an EEA National or the family member of an EEA National) as evidence of their settled status in the United Kingdom?

Please could you advise me on the above query, I am currently having ILR got in May-2024.

You are NOT relying on an EEA or family member of EEA national. The answer is no. Your ILR is under the UK Immigration rules not the EU rules.

I have another question where I need to enter Referee details but its asking Referee must:

"know or have known the applicant personally for more than 3 years"

But my son born on 07-Sept-2022 who is not yet 3 years old.

Any advice here please?

Caseworker will know the child's age - there's nothing to explain to them, except perhaps mention this to the referee in case they also query this.

Its asking for two referees details, should they be belong to some particular profession.

I have couple of friends whom I asked if they are ok to provide their details as referee but they both are from IT profession, is it fine if I give their details as referees?

Sorry, what is Chartered body?

But they do have British passports.

One of the referees must be a professional on the list of professionals. For example, a lawyer, a minister of religion, a Chartered Accountant. Just being 'professional' or having a degree is not sufficient.

I have now sorted for the referees.

I need one clarification on the status of my son's stay in UK after I applied his this application if he gets the successful decision before his current tier 2 dependent expiry on 31-Aug-2025, does he legally stay in UK after his tier 2 dependent visa on his naturalisation visa?

Son will be a British citizen then!
Any visa status he may have had before becoming British is extinguished and as a citizen he is free from all immigration restrictions.
Naturalisation is not an immigration visa. For travel he needs a British passport (apply once the certificate is issued).
