Greetings,

My son was born abroad.and send in UK 2 years. And currently he is back home in Somalia since November. His age is 8 years old.

My question, I will be eligible for citizenship this August under tier 2 and I want to ask can I include my son in the application but do his biometrics in Kenya with a relative. Or better to bring him back here then apply together. I am single parents.

So I will apply in the UK but he will apply from somalia and do the biometrics in Kenya. Is that even possible.

Thank you

He's probably ineligible for citizenship.

Does he have ILR? What is his circumstances? Has he ever lived with you in the UK? Where is the other parent?

You can include your son in the application but the child must have been resident in the UK for the last two years. So you must bring him back and live with you. I don't know what the HO expects for absences for your child in this case as he has been away from the UK for the last 7 months.

That being said, your child needs to live in the UK when applying in your case, so no point in him applying for Somalia and then travelling to Kenya for biometrics, I don't know how that could even work.

Is the other parent still alive or has custody?

We need the answer to the question about the other parent as it could influence the documents you need to provide for your son's application.

The father is alive but he is not in our life.My son came to Uk under my visa as dependent as I had full custody.
