Just following up again on my family's application (its related to both citizenship and ILR)
I have applied for my younger daughter's citizenship. However, my elder daughter, aged almost 8 years now was about 6 months old when we moved to the UK. She has lived in the UK for over 7 years now. While applying for my wife's ILR, i added my daughter to her application. While the application was for ILR, i requested the caseworker to consider the time the girl has spent and grant her citizenship directly. I have received the following response from the home office. While putting up the request, I did not know if my girl was eligible or not, I just made the request. Is there any rule under which my elder daughter could qualify for citizenship, or will it be entirely discretionary on the part of home office? Let's suppose, I apply for citizenship directly, and if it is rejected, would she still be eligible for ILR or will it reset the clock? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Children born abroad require ilr before they can apply for citizenship, when one parent is also applying for citizenship.
