Driving offence declaration

Hi everyone, I'm finally filling my naturalisation application. There it asks if I had a penalty for a driving offence
I only had;
speed awareness course offered- which I took
and one council parking ticket

these happened 2 years apart and the last one happened 2 years ago. I'm not a serial traffic offender. :D

I declared all of these in my visa renewal applications and finally on ILR.

On naturalisation form it says;

You must tell us about fixed penalty notices (e.g. a speeding or parking ticket) if you've received three or more. If you received a fixed penalty notice but didn't pay the fine and there was a criminal proceeding resulting in a conviction, tell us here.

I don't have three or more so I don't need to declare, but then I don't want to withold any information that I previously shared.

I will be grateful for your advice. Should I declare these in the related section, or write them in a cover letter, or not declare anything?

thank you so much

You took the course so it wasn't a FPN. the other one was only a PCN that you immediately paid. no need to declare either.

Hi

I have a question about the same issue. I have held UK driving license since Jan 2019. Yesterday, I received my first "intention to prosecute" notice. Apparently, I was driving at 57 mph on 50 mph variable limit on the motorway. It was entirely unintentional, I did not even know I did it until I saw the notice. I will be applying for citizenship next year. How bad does it sit on your application? I have been issued with any penalty yet. I have been asked to declare I was the driver which I have done. Let's suppose I receive a £100 penalty and three points on the license, will it sit really bad on the application and can cause a problem? I have never been issued with any FPN before and hopefully this will be the last time.

Thank you

I meant I have not been issued with any penalty yet but I may be now. Would really appreciate any advice on the above.

You should open your own topic instead of tagging on to someone else's. In any case, if you only ever received one FPN and have no other run ins with the law, your application will most likely not be affected

Thank you for your message. The reason I posted it here because once I opened up a new post on a topic but was prompted by another moderator to use an already running post on the topic.

Moderators suggest to use a running post that you already opened on the topic, for example this one: https://www.immigrationboards.com/viewt ... 8#p2194848. Any of your British citizenship questions can be posted there with no issues.

If you already did the speed awareness course from a previous offence, most likely you'll receive a fine and three points on the licence. This has to be declared on the application however has no effect on the naturalisation outcome.
