Naturalisation Application for ILR granted Skilled worker Dependant and Dependant Child

I came to the UK on a Tier 2 (General) PBS visa in November 2016 and was granted Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in October 2021. I was subsequently naturalised as a British citizen in January 2023.

My wife and son (aged 1) joined me in the UK as my dependants in October 2020. I have now applied for their ILR and we are awaiting a decision.

I would be grateful if you could clarify the following:

Question 1: Once my wife and son are granted ILR, can I apply for their naturalisation immediately under the category of being married to a British citizen (i.e., without the 12-month ILR residency requirement)?

Question 2: For my son, should the application be made as a naturalisation application (same as my wife’s), or should it be submitted as a child registration application for British citizenship?

Thank you very much for your guidance.

Thank you for response.

Question 2 answer is yes, meaning that son’s naturalisation similar as wife’s naturalisation application?

Children under 18 are REGISTERED as British. Only adults are Naturalised.

You simply add the child to your wifes form and the form will adapt to MN1 for the child etc.
