Hi,
Husband received british nationality in June 2025.
And the family (wife and 2 kids under 18) got ILR in 1st week of September 2025 ( after 5 years).
Do they have to wait 1 year before applying for the naturalization or they can apply straightaway as the husband is now a British Citizen?
Thanks

They can apply now, if the wife meets the requirements for the spouse of a British citizen and the children meet the requirements for registration as a British citizen.

Consult the guidance to know what are the requirements - that is really what it comes down to.

Yes the requirements are met. The confusion is, the husband wasn't British at the time of marriage, just became 3 months ago. Usually rules are to wait for 12 months after getting ILR. But can she apply as a wife of the British spouse?

It doesnt matter when he became British there is no rule that it must be since married.
He only needs to be British at the time she qualifies to apply without waiting 12 months.
