Hello

My child born on 05/10/2025.In the UK?? At the time of his birth I am on the ILR I mean from September 2022 I am on the ILR.

Questions:

1. I am thinking that I can apply for a British passport directly for my child ? YES - if child was born in the UK.
2. Will filling out the British passport for my child it's asking 'Do you have a naturalisation or registration certificate?' Can I fill it as No or do I need this for before applying NO - your child's claim to British citizenship is the fact you were on ILR at time of birth. Use your proof of ILR - and don't loose it!!
3. When I fill it as 'No' for the above question and proceed with application then it's asking grand parents details. Do I need to provide that? NO - your child is not British through parentage.

It's definitely asking the grandparents' details. The only problem I have is that I don't have their marriage certificate. Do they ask me to provide any documents with respect to them?

One more thing on my dad passport, he doesn't have a Surname. But actually, he has the surname as his father's name. So can I provide his father name in the lastname column?
