Dear Team,

I am encountering an issue while applying for naturalisation for my 12‑year‑old child. During the payment stage of the online application, I am being prompted to pay the Standard service fee of £1,735. However, according to the information on the GOV.UK website, the fee for a child’s naturalisation application is £1,214.

I used the link below to create an account and complete the application on behalf of my child, but it appears to be directing me to the AN form, which I understand is intended for adult applicants.
Kindly please advise whether I am using the correct online application, or if I may have made an error while completing the form?

For context, both myself and my spouse are naturalised British citizens. Our child was born outside the UK, has been living in the UK since 2018, and currently holds ILR.

It is form MN1 for children correct.

Presumably, you are putting the childs name and details in the Applicant details?

Note that we cannot see the questions and stages of the online forms.

Sorry - No, i didnt use form MN1. I thought the MN1 is not applicalbe in my childs case. As it for kids born in the UK or if the the parents obtained citizenship via decent. My child was born outside UK, and we (parents) obtained citizenship via naturalization ILR GTV route. Sorry if i got it wrong?

I directly used the link on the info page, appears it takes the AN applicant first though the childs details are filled and then allow to add dependents - which seems to be wrong as it might be for group application.

As I said, we cannot see what the online steps and questions are so unless you post them, we can't really help.

Form MN1 is for ALL children under 18 years of age. You were filling in the wrong form (AN) and presumably the form asked about LIUK and English test.

Below is the MN1 form. You apply and select "Other" for the category you are applying under.

That’s perfect CR001. Tried via the MN1 link and chose “other” as the category as advised. Now it’s right form for the child application.

PS: I was on the normal application (AN form) which prompted LIUK, travel history, English etc. It was a misunderstanding that MN1 wasn’t applicable in my child’s case.
