Hello, myself and my wife are holding Indian passport and would be eligible to apply for ILR in next few months. Our child (13 years) is holding US passport since birth and has already spent 6 years in the UK. Will he be able to directly apply for British Passport? Please can someone suggest the steps for it.

Ilr first for the child if they were born abroad.
Child can apply for citizenship when either parent also applies.
Cureent nationality of the child is irrlevant. There is no shortcut route for children born abroad to parents that are not British.

If one parent obtain ILR, can we apply direct Citizenship for our child using MN1 form? Or does he also needs to take ILR first and apply using a standard process like any other non british minor?

If born outside the UK, child needs ILR first.

No. That is a provision for children born in the UK.
For children born outside the UK (and the US is as foreign to the UK as India is), at least one parent needs to either be a British citizen or be applying for British citizenship at the same time AND the child and the other parent should be having ILR.
Alternatively, all three (the child and both parents) need to have ILR AND the child needs to have lived in the UK for at least five years AND have had ILR for at least one year.
Or, all three (the child and both parents) need to have lived in the UK legally for ten years. In this case, the child doesn't need to have had ILR before registering for British citizenship.
Children born outside the UK are eligible to apply for ILR in-line with the second/less-privileged parent.
