Citizenship timeline tracking

The other Citizenship Timeline Tracker thread has gotten pretty long now (nearing 70 pages) and it's proving very hard to track exactly how long it's taking people to get citizenship after applying to the DoJ. I've created a spreadsheet to track details of applicants so we can see how long app's are really taking. My hope is that we can see whether anyone is actually being processed in the advertised average of 23 months, and see if there are any trends on how/when processing happens.

Feel free to add your name: http://www.editgrid.com/explore/user/sc ... nship_apps . If you'd like more or different info captured (i.e. more columns) just let me know.

And people, add full year e.g. 2006 etc.. as spreadsheet seems to be changing 06 back to 09 for some reason.

Thank you scrudu!
Why don't you add 2 more columns? LTR applied and LTR received, so this nice tool can also be used for trackin LTR? :D

The spreadsheet was already kinda "busy" so I've added a 2nd worksheet (Residency Stamps) where you can add details for things like long Term Residency and other endorsements.

From posts on the board I don't think having LTR or Without condition as to time makes much of a difference to getting citizenship anyway.

There was some problem with the date format in the Date Columns so I've changed them all to Free Text so it won't keep converting dates into US Date format.

Agreed with JHBMike. I think people should definitely use pseudonyms and ideally different ones to this site so they can't be connected back. Maybe I'm being paranoid but I'd hate for it to become a way for DoJ to identify people on this forum by matching dates and comments on this forum (that is if they even read here).

One point to note on filling the grid out. Dates should be entered in the following format 01-2008 (Jan-08) or 12-2004 (Dec-04). They will automatically be converted to the correct format. Don't ask why it has to be this way. I really don't know.

I think some of the dates are currently wrong as they include future dates, or application dates later than acknowledgement dates (e.g. User:aswardref: App date=May 09, User:Rustig: App Date=Sep 09, User:<blank>:App Date=Sep 09)

I have to say I am absolutely shocked at the info showing up in this so far. So many people waiting since 2006 with no responses, yet some people who applied in 2007 do have responses. Definitely not being handled "chronologically" as DoJ report. I mean, I knew they were slow, but it's pretty shocking seeing all the entries (43 so far) beside each other and seeing how many people are still waiting for such a very long time :(

Very disheartening.

FYI: I have changed the spreadsheet to LOCK the rows that have been entered by users already which means users will not be able to re-edit existing rows in the spreadsheet. Users can still freely add new row's of data to the spreadsheet. This is to protect and preserve the data already added, as some rows were deleted (presumably accidentally?!) last week. This will also prevent changes being made to other peoples data by a 3rd party.

If you wish any changes to be made to existing rows (e.g. to update Visa Grant date, or update Info requested date, or to be removed from spreadsheet) please PM me and I will update the row with the info.

Hi Scrudu, :) thanks for your initiative. That's very good idea what you have come up with however locking the cells are discouraging people to update the status daily basis. You know it's always a 'big thing' sometimes to send an email to someone rather than just putting a few comments. I guess you can at least activate the 'NOTES' column. I think we have nothing but to trust people at this stage. regards, A_I

Good idea. So that whole rows can't be deleted accidentally (this has happened more than once), I've changed it to only lock the first 5 columns (up to and including App Date). This means people can edit their dates from that column onwards (e.g. Ack Date, Grant Date etc.).

A more ideal solution would be one where people have to log in to edit their own row but I don't know of any "ready to go" solution for this and don't have the time to program it.

Your lawyer knows about it. It doesnt mean Dept of Justice knows about it. I was just wondering if a person become unemployed during citizenship approval letter recevied, would Dept of Justice delay that person citizenship application at all or not? Thats why I asked you if you have any news from the Dept itself.

Thx

They do delay it i think because until i was employed they were in touch with me but since unempolyed not even a call from my lawyer.

And thats why you get a lawyer in these cases to contact and let your situation know to Dept of Justice.Just find out three days ago someone got his approved even though he was unempolyed when he applied the
application .

Shocking :!:

I think it depends on when he become unemployed. If he became unemployed before they asked for additional documentation. Dept of Justice will delay him, but if he became unemployed after Dept of Justice request additional documents, he will be ok. I think. I could be wrong!

status of my sons over 22

hi people
i am not sure if its the right post for this query if not i beg you pardon
my situation is bit complicated so there is a bit of a background.
any reply would be much appreciated. i came to Ireland on work permit in 2001 and have been working at the same company ever since. my family joined me here in 2003. In 2006/07 upon fulfilling the criteria of DOJ's timing i applied for naturalization and status 4 stamp.
i just received my status 4 stamp 2 months ago my children are still on stamp 2
i have not heard any thing from DOJ regarding my naturalization since Jan 2007
i am wondering based on my stamp 4 long term residency can i get the status of my two elder sons (who are attending college and having to pay international fees because of their status) changed to stamp 4 as well as they did not come into state as students but to join their family. any help and guidance will be much appreciated

Stamp 3, but not Stamp 4. Doesn't make a huge difference in practice though (Stamp 2 to Stamp 3 I mean).

Interesting. I knew that Stamp 3 holders were not permitted to work as they're dependants, but I didn't know they weren't allowed access to third level education.

I should have checked this page:
Stamp 3 is a limited stamp which indicates that the person cannot work or study full time in Ireland.
Looks like they'll have to stay on Stamp 2 until your naturalisation, at which point they should get Stamp 4.
