RESIDENTIAL QUALIFYING PERIOD

I want to know if time spent in the UK on a tourist visa is counted toward the residential qualifying period.

I arrived in the UK Nov 30 2007 on a 6 month tourist visa. We bought a house, car etc and got settled. I returned to Australia May 2008 to finalise affairs and secure Indefinate Leave to Remain based on my 10 year marriage to a UK citizen. Returned again to the UK with ILR on Sept 1 2008.

Does my residential qualifying start Nov 30 2007 or Sept 1 2008?

@lindsay, my understanding of Residential Qualifying period is that it always begins from the day you enter the UK on a long term basis. I don't think a tourist visa counts as long term visa...

Plz seek further info....
