Citizenship for birth abroad?

I am American & my husband is British. Our 1st child was born in the UK & has dual citizenship. Our 2nd child was born in the US. Is our 2nd child able to be a British citizen as well? I've looked at the UKBA website & it's just confusing. There's always a possibility that we may return to the UK & I want to make sure there isn't a problem with him needing a visa or something.

Thank You.

If your husband is British otherwise than by descent (e.g. he was born in the UK), then his child is British.

Thanks for replying. My husband was born in Britain. Would we need to register our child or does he automatically have citizenship?

Thanks

No need to register, the child is already British, and was from the moment of birth.

Just apply for a British passport for the child.
