Hi All

I hope someone could advise on this.

Here is my passports history
1st passport was used when I entered the UK (Spouse visa on) 2002 Sept
1st passport expired in Nov 2002
2nd passport was issued then I received ILR visa in 2003 Sept.
2nd passport expired in Nov 2007
3rd passport valid until 2017

I don't have my 1st passport anymore (I think I lost it)
BTW I am divorced.
I travel with the current passport and 2nd passport (ILR visa on it).
considering supporting documents basis of residence in the UK.
you need three support docs in which my case
1: UK Driving licence
2; Letter confirming success in the LIFE in the UK
3: MY PASSPORTS OR Letters from emplyers)
Correct me if I am wrong about 3.

anyway as I lost my 1st passport, I can not show HO my spouse visa and immigration stamp by customs when I first entered the UK.(also we have to state the date in section2.1)
2nd passport has got ILR visa which I obtained 6.5yrs ago.
Though it is impossible, did I still need the 1st passport?
I might have photocopies of the spouse visa and the page that immigration stamps on (not certified copy)
I hope ILR visa is enough said...

Thanks

I think you should be OK. Include the photocopies of the lost passport. Also, get letters from employers during that time (2002 to 2003). If you were not employed or enrolled, a letter from your city council perhaps?

SECTION 3 Evidence of lawful residence during the 5 (or, if the applicant is married or in civil partnership to a British
citizen, 3) years before the date of the application: required for applications made on the basis of residence in the
united kingdom: required for all applicants
• Your passports OR
• Letters from employers, educational establishments or other Government Departments indicating presence
in UK

Because you've been here over five years and a passport with ILR from 2003, I don't think the previous one will matter much. You meet the citizenship criteria with just the last two passports. Good luck.

well thanks GG

but I phoned NCS today and the lady over the phone said I did not need to bring the 1st one(I lost it anyway) as I am divorced already and applying basis of 5yrs residence one.
But you said I need to have 1st one,
are you talking about British passport application or Naturalisation processing?
please tell me what if my case will be treated then?
It is very important for me

My first passport used in the UK was stolen while in Spain. But I had photocopies of that passport and the Entry Clearance that I first used.

Before I applied for ILR, I got a SAR (look for the sticky thread on SAR for more info) and requested a copy of my first landing card and other info of my first arrival. These were included in my ILR application.

I also included these for my NCS application, and the NCS lady said it was over and above the necessary evidence. I already had a letter from my employer, my first payslip, my first bank statement. Also in my case, the 5 years of residence was from the day I arrived.

So it's up to you if you want to get a SAR (it's only £10) to show your first entry to the UK but I don't think you'll need it.

IMO i dont think there is any need to worry yourself about the passport that you lost or doing SAR's. As the NCS lady told you, your current passport covers the the 5 year residence period for which you are applying and also has your ILR stamp in it so just include that.
