Hi All,
I will be applying my naturalisation soon, Can I use the following referees on my application?
1st Referee - My Friend who is working as a software engineer, Living in UK for last 2 years on HSMP (Indian Citizen)
2nd Referee - My family friend who is a Taxi Driver (British Citizen)
I know both of them more than 3 years.
Are these referees acceptable? Can you please advise me?
Thanks
Senthil

Well he is an 'engineer' and if he has 'professional qualifications' then i cant see why not.
Also make sure your friend (taxi driver) is over 25

Hi f2k,
I am still in confusion for 1st referee, I know 2 of my friends more than 3 years. Can I use one them for my 1st referee?
1) Friend 1 - He did Bachler of Engineering(BE) in India and working as a Control systems engineer in UK. He has ILR in UK
2). Friend 2 - He did Bachler of Engineering (BE) and MBA in india. He is working as a Senior Business Analyst in the Software firm (CTS). He has been in UK for last 2 years on HSMP.
Bachler of Engineering degree in india is a professional qualification. Can you please advise me which one is acceptable?
Thanks

Hi Bani,
Thanks for your reply. Both of them do not have British Passport. I think that one referee can be any nationality. Can you please confirm?
Thanks

yes, they have ILR and HSMP so, of course, not British. and I said they were fine.
but your British citizen friend who drives a taxi must have a passport and also give you his passport number.
I hope that is clear.

Hi All,
I am coming back to this topic with a query, I recently came to know that the Bachelor of Engineering Degree in India, is not a professional qualification. Both of above mentioned friends hold Bachelor of Engineering Degree from India, so I think that I still have a problem. So I came up with another referee, I know my manager for more than 3 years, he is a project manager and managing a team of around 25 employees in a project in UK. He is working for Tata Consultancy Services which is very big company and he has been in UK for more than 6 years on work permit (Indian Citizen). Can project manager be a referee?
Can you please advise me?
Thanks
Senthil
