When To Apply For Naturisation

my wife got her initial visa on aug 2006
arrived in uk on 24.08.2006
Received ILR sept 2008
can she apply for naturalisation now?
(ideally before the new rules are introduced??)

That's right I believe if you are British and you have been married 3yrs then she should be able to apply under the 3yr rule + 1yr ILR. Otherwise, not yet.

freddfrog, let's get confirmation from single_lonely about his nationality.
But if he is indeed British there is no " + 1yr ILR" rule. But there is a "3yr rule".

OK, your wife can apply for Naturalisation now, as long as she meets all the rules. In particular, make sure that she was physically in the UK exactly 3 years before UKBA receive the Naturalisation application.
Her time outside the UK in the last 3 years? In the last year? Any problem with the Good Conduct requirements? That is, any convictions?
