Absence in last 12 months

Post by khaweriba » Mon Aug 30, 2010 3:08 pm

Dear All

I got ILR in June 2009. 5 years completed in JUNE 2010 , but I was not in UK since March 2010. Hence my absences in last 12 months are over 180 days. The reason for these absences are my 1st child was hospitalized and later my wife could not travel as she was expecting. After the birth of 2nd child, it took time to get his documents completed.

Having said that, I have read on the UKBA website that absences can be waived if valid reason are given provided all other requirements are met. (Which I do)

Kindly advise if there is someone similar to my case. Appreciate the response and sharing.

Best regards,

MKI

Re: Online tracking of citizenship application

Post by asifk » Wed Sep 01, 2010 2:51 pm

Hello All,

I applied for Registration as a British Citizen on August 9th, and received an acknowledgement letter dated 12th of August ( I received it on 18th Aug).

I have seen some mention of a Home Office website through which one can track these applications, but I have not been able to find it myself. Could someone point me in the right direction ?

Many thanks,

AK
There is no online system to check for Registeration/Naturalisation applications. But you can call them on + 44 151 672 5626.

But if you find any online system let us know :)

good luck
Just tried calling but was told they will not give any information for any applications in the past 6 months and their current timeline for applications is 3-6 months !

Guys keep it up.

To those still 'in the system' all i can say is live each day as it comes, respect the laws and always keep an eye on the developments that come out of UKBA HQ and your day will come sooner than you can imagine

Passport new format...

Post by jkmuk » Fri Sep 03, 2010 10:46 am

Congratulations to all who have recieved their British passports. Those who recieved it recently can you let us know if it is in the new format announced recently or will the new format be effective only in Oct/2010 as advertised?

If so, is there any point in waiting until Oct to apply for passport? Any suggestions?

Can someone please help me on my earlier post, i havent still received any updates on my case.

Hello,

I dont understand how come others getting an update from HO where I have tried couple of times and all they said was just "Your case is not 6 months old so wait"...

My Time Lines

NCS or Postal: Used private Solicator just for personal satisfaction
Date of submission : 20th July 2010
Received at HO: 21st July 2010
CRITERIA - 6 yrs ( 4 yrs WP + 1 yr HSMP + 1 yr ILR )
Date of debit of debit card: 23/07/10
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: dated 23/07 received 28/07

On 13/08 they returned all my orignal documents with a letter saying
" Thank you for submitting the ecnlosed docs. For your convenience the enclosed docs have been noted and returned. The application will be considered on the information that has been recorded, but it may be necessary to ask for them to be returned".

Is this normal that documents arrving prior to the decision letter or they should arrived together..Im worried can some please advice?

thanks,
Ali.

Ali,
Yes HO is right and they can refuse to provide an update on the an application that is less than 6 months old. However I guess it depends on the person that you talk to when you call them as some of the call handlers seem to be kind enough to provide this information while some others might not.

I guess it boils down to a bit of luck and the mood of the person that you are talking to. Be advised that every conversation that you have with them is recorded and I would recommend not to call them often which can annoy them.

jkmuk,

Thanks for the reply yes Im not calling them any more I just called them twice and the last time was 2 weeks ago.

Can you clear my other concern as why they sent my docs on 13th Aug without the decision letter? is it normal ?

thanks in advance,
Ali

Ali,
I have not been in a situation similar to yours so cannot comment on it. But I remember reading other posts where the documents were sent prior to decission being made. So I would not worry too much about it.

jkmuk,

Now i feel a bit relex when you said that you have seen others also received their docs prior to the decision.

thank you again for the reply :)

If anyone can share similar experience that would be great.

thanks,
Ali
