Possible delays to sponsor applications and requests

19 July 2010

Between 19 July and 30 July 2010, the UK Boder Agency's sponsor licensing and management units are prioritising work to implement the government's new policy on an interim immigration limit.

As a result, other work areas may be delayed. If you have have already sent an application or other request to us, please be patient - we will process it as soon as we can.

We appreciate your patience at this time, and will deal with any outstanding cases as soon as possible when the work on the interim limit is completed. General enqueries about sponsorship can be made to the sponsorship and employers' helpline as usual.

Would it delay the Naturalisation applications as well?

I don't see any reason why it would. The new government's policies do not change the rules for naturalisation.

Its not about the changes in rules for naturalization, its presumably about the UKBA staff getting busy with prioritising work to implement the government's new policy on an interim immigration limit from 19th July to 30th July and as a result, other work areas may be delayed.

The text refers to the sponsor licensing and management units. It is quite possible that meaning of "other areas" is restricted to units associated / related to "sponsor licensing and management units".

Else, UKBA could have easily announced that UKBA is busy with implementing interim limits and hence there will be delays everywhere.

Just a thought .......
