Indian passport expiry & British citizenship application

Hi,

My hubby's Indian passport is to expire by last week of August 2010. We do have plans apply for his British citizenship on 3rd Aug 2010.

Can you please clarify whether this is allowable or should we proceed in renewing his Indian passport first and then apply for British citizenship?

Main concern is Indian passport renewal takes anywhere between 3 to 6 months and we do not want that to delay his British citizenship application.

Thanks in advance.

Is it obligatory to send a VALID non UK passport when you apply for your first UK passport or you can send even the expired passport?

Hi there

Can I just ask if the HO accepted the passport that was due to expire to apply for BC?

I am applying for BC first week in Jan 2011 - but my passport expires first week in Feb 2011 - is this ok??

Stop pondering and worrying. You can apply for BC without problems.

I am stressing like one would not believe!!!!

Some people say NO your passport needs to be valid - others say NO its OK, even UKBA are giving different answers!!!!

Well the way I see it - my passport will still be valid at time of application!

Hi
We will be applying our British citizenship by 2nd week of January but my wife's passport expires on end of Feb. Is that okay?

Do we need to have a valid Indian passport when applying British citizenship? Could anyone please advise on the same?
