naturalization as a couple

I hold PR since august 2009,so I could be naturalized now,my wife lives in UK for 4 years could she be naturalized now with me or do she have to get her PR wait a year and them apply for naturalization?also we will be married for 3 years in december if that makes any changes.many thanks for advice

Your spouse needs to have PR status before she can apply for naturalisation. Your spouse may apply for naturalisation through either of the following routes:
Route 1 - Complete 5 years in the UK and upon fulfilling
standard requirements apply for naturalisation.
Route 2 - Once you naturalise and are granted citizenship (naturalisation certificate), your spouse may then apply for naturalisation as spouse of British citizen as and when
requirements for spouse /civil partners are met.

somebody told me that we can do it now and pay only joint fee, but I was thinking he was wrong
