Hi,

I have just been granted ILR and I am thinking of doing the following:

- Spend 6 months in Australia
- Return to the UK
- Wait 1 more year (and ensure that I am not out of the country for more than 90 days)
- Apply for naturalisation

Could this have any impact on my naturalisation application if I am out of the country for 180 days+ during the 5 year qualifying period?

My understanding is that as long as the total number of absence days during the five years prior to the application is less than 450 days, you are OK.

And not more than 90 days in the year preceding the application.
