Hi there I wonder if anyone could help me, I have a ILR and have been like this for a year and been as an unmarried couple for 3 years, can I apply for naturalisation? if so what document do I send to prove my unmarried status?
Thank you

Unless married to or a civil partner of a British citizen, you may apply for naturalisation as and when you fulfil the
standard requirements.

A civil partnership is between couples of the same gender who have legally registered their partnership.

I think I comply with the requirements, however I do not understand what civil partnership means, do I have to be married in paper? I have lived with my partner for 3 years and a half but never married
Civil partnership is essentially gay marriage.
