Help before I apply for BC please!!!

Hi there

I entered the UK in May 2001 on a EEA Family Permit
In June 2002 I received a 5 year Residence stamp in my Passport
In Dec 2007 I received confirmation of PR in my passport
I am correct in assuming I can apply for Citizenship right?

I have read the AN guide and concerned about this:

New immigration regulations came into force on 30 April 2006. If you are a national of a country which is a member state of the EEA or Switzerland, or the family member of such a person, you will automatically have permanent residence status after exercising EEA free movement rights in the UK for any continuous period of 5 years ending on or after 30 April
2006.

What does the above mean? Does it mean I can now only apply for BC if I was in the UK for 5 years before the end of 30 April 2006?

So confused here - I have been in the country nearly 10 years
Also as I am the applicant, does the EEA National need to provide any documents even though he is not applying with me as a joint application?

Please someone help!!

Overdue means you already meet the requirements years ago. It is good news for you. Best wishes
