I spoke to the Post Office check and send service who told me as I was born

before 1983 I only to provide my british passport details as my wife as ILR originally from India.

They said that I don't need to send my marriage certicate in if it is me who is signing the form for my baby's first passport. ( my baby was born in the UK).

When I spoke to the Passport service they contradicted the Post office advice and said I do need to send in my marriage certificate.

Can some one confirm either way?

Thanks

If I were you, I would send the Marriage certificate to erase any unforeseen circumstances, also since there is nothing to loose by sending the certificate...so to be on the safer side, just send it as requested by the Passport service!

The Post Office aren't always correct. I was given the wrong information with a passport application sent through the Post Office checking service which caused delays with issuing my passport. The Post Office refunded my checking fee as compensation!
I would send the marriage certificate.
