Hi All,
I have some inquiries regarding how I can apply for British passport.
Actually I got visa spouse/British for 27 month last august 2010 which I got from UK embassy in UAE, my wife she’s British & we are living together since 5 years out UK in UAE & we have 2 childes both they are British also.
After that I went to London last November 2010 & I did the life in UK test & I passed the test.
Then I return to UAE & I applied to indefinite leave to enter ILE visa & I got it now.
My question how long do I have to wait before I can apply for a UK passport? Is it 1 or 2 year or I can apply immediately? What I need to do?
Please advice.

Please post details of your time physically in the UK in the last 3 years .... exact dates if possible.

ahd, based upon what you have posted, there is no hope of you getting Naturalisation as British, and thus no hope of you getting a British passport.

The only exception to this is if your wife happens to be a Crown Servant, that is if she works in UAE for the UK Government.

To explain what John is saying:

In order to get naturalised as a BC (using your spouse as a route) - you'll have to have been in the country precisely 3 years before the date of application (example - if you were to apply today - you would have had to have been in the UK legally on the 27th Feb 2008).

There is also a restriction on the amount of time you can have spent out of the country in those 3 years - 270 days across the 3 years and no more than 90 days in the last year.

So - from what you've put - the earliest you can apply is November 2013 - assuming:

1) The rules don't change
2) You actually live in the UK (You haven't told us that you've come back!)

Keep in mind that if you intend to spend more than 2 years outside the UK with just ILE - you'll be subject to the returning residents rules.
