passport application rejection?

Hi,

I am bit confused if my application is rejected or is still in processing stage.

here is the story.
I applied for passport via post office check on monday.
yesterday, i called IPS to check if everything was ok with my application and they said its all fine and i can book for interview. they also gave me interview reference number. today morning i called passport office and booked a time for interview.

when i came home (few minutes back), i had received a letter (this is where all the confusion starts) which states

"Unfortunately before we could issue your passport we need to make further enquiries, as the application is not correct. as you applied using the partnership check and send service you are eligible for a refund"
It enclosed my indian passport and naturalisation certificate.

I will call them on monday to check what should i do....
any one faced anything similar?

It might most likely you have not sent all the required documents that need to be sent with the application. For example your old passport with which you first entered the UK for the qualifying period of citizenship. I am just speculating.

If you call on Monday you will know exactly what is the trouble with your passport application.
