I am preparing for register my child (born in the UK before we got ILR) as British citizen. I think the form is MN1, the policy is section 1(3). register fee is £500.
However someone told me that if child was born in the UK, the register fee is about £50, at least 2 years ago. but I cannot find this fee in the current fee list. Why?

thanks. but this leaflet shows the fee for child register is £500. My question is why some people told me that it's only about £50 to register child as British citizen (child born in the UK but before parent got ILR).

you should ask them, how people on the forum gonna know why they told you that registration cost only 50 GBP?
it is 500 GBP, if you don`t want you don`t have to pay the fee, just don`t register your child :P

What Boloney mentioned is correct. The fee keeps increasing much more than Pound going down against many other world currencies in the recent past. Not in the last few years the child registration fee was £50. HO likes to make billions from the a immigrants application fees. By charging £50 they cannot make billions. If you wait for your application on or after April 6th then you need to pay £540
