British Citizenship Application checks??

Hi,

I wanted to ask my fellow applicants whether they have heard through friends, family, contacts, the grapevine etc what kind of checks they do for Citizenship applications?

I know they would undertake police checks but what other checks potentially and how long would thest take? It probably varies dependant on the case/application but am curious.

My timeline so far:

16/03/2011 - Attended appointment at local Council and got docs approved & app sent off special delivery by Council through National Checking Service.

18/03/2011 - Payment taken from card to application received.

29/03/2011 - Received acknowledgement letter.

21/04/2011 - Called UK Border Agency & application still waiting to be assigned to a caseworker.

Getting rather frustrated.... Been six long years and expense :)

Plus can anybody gloss over the passport application process one has to undertake in order to apply for first adult British Passport?

Would appreciate any information!! Thanks in advance!! :)

You are not alone in this painful waiting scenario , there are so many people and I am one of them. Just wait and hope for the best. As far as i checked they are only dealing with the applications received in first or 2nd week of March, rest all waiting to be allocated to case worker.
