Passport app - alternative address for Secure Delivery

Hello! I've heard from people that there is an option to specify a different address for Secure Delivery of supporting documents and the passport itself during an IPS application for the first adult passport.

Looking at the application form, there seems to be no such option. Is it specified during the check & send stage at the Post Office, or do they mean that once the delivery failed at the home address, the courier can be requested to re-deliver elsewhere?

Thanks for any info on this, if anyone had to deal with it recently.

I never heard abt this before. Simply for secure documents delievery send ur application through next day special delievery along with a self prepaid recorded special next day delievery envelope. Thats what I did and had no issues at all. cheers

Thanks for the response. Am I right in assuming that this refers to a regular postal application (NOT Check & Send Service)?

In the description of passport fees, they mention the option to have the documents returned via Secure Delivery for a £3.00 surcharge - so I assumed one doesn't have to enclose a self-addressed pre-paid envelope for that.

Thanks for any additional info.
