Long time resident - Form AN

I came to England with my parents back in 1974 and have lived and worked in England ever since. I’ve had ‘Resident’ status here since childhood and my Portuguese passport is issued by the Portuguese Consulate in London.

After a 28 year career, I was made redundant in Sept 2010. My wife and I decided that, given that her earning potential was greater than mine, she would return to work and I would remain at home to look after our infant son; so, I am now, quite happily, a full-time father and house-husband.

I am attempting to fill in Form AN, which I was assured is the correct form for British Nationality applications, but I’m particularly confused with how to answer Section 3, questions 3.1 to 3.5, as I am no-longer in ‘conventional’ employment; for example, if I answer ‘Homemaker or House-husband’ in 3.1, do I leave questions 3.2 to 3.5 blank? Would they expect me to elaborate on my situation in the ‘further info’ section?

Also, as I’ve been resident here for so many years, do I still need to answer questions 2.2 to 2.4?

If anyone can clarify things for me, I’d be much obliged.
