Re: Question AN Application

Post by psuego » Sun Nov 24, 2013 12:48 pm

Summer14, I made the same mistake thinking that I have to add the ceremony fee and the app fee. But there is nothing to worry about they debited £874 from my account. It is not going to effect your app. I have received my acknowledgment letter and hope will get the approval soon. Good luck!

Application type: 2 years Spoue visa + time spent on student visa
Application sent by Post SD: 26/09/2013
Application received by UKBA: 27/09/2013
Acknowledgment Letter: 08/10/2013
Approval letter: Not yet
Ceremony date: Not yet

I'm still waiting for my approval letter, I've phoned UKBA and emailed them as well, but same response. No decision has yet been made!!!

I think applications sent without using NCS service takes longer!!! I regret now, I should have sent my application via NCS so at least I could travel outside the UK!

I am of the view that paying that extra £65 for NCS is better in the long run. at least you can use your original docs for something else. Also, NCS indirectly gives you the initial check that may be useful

Approvals?

Post by jotter » Mon Nov 25, 2013 1:42 pm

Hi all,

This little table might be of interest. (Apologies for the crappy formatting)

APPs = Applications that I have found in this forum thus far.
APPROVED = Percentage of these applications that posters have informed us have been approved (rounded to nearest full percent)

WEEK APPS (APPROVED)
Aug 26-Sept 1 = 19 (89%)
Sept 2-8 = 24 (83%)
Sept 9-15 = 19 (95%)
Sept 16-22 = 22 (100%)
Sept 23-29 = 23 (83%)

Sept 30-Oct 6 = 40 (85%)
Oct 7-13 = 62 (79%)
Oct 14-20 = 54 (81%)
Oct 21-27 = 102 (38%)

Oct 28-Nov 3 = 16 (6%)
Nov 4-10 = 22 (0%)
Nov 11-17 = 12 (0%)
Nov 18-24 = 15 (0%)

I admit this is biased towards capturing the cutoff point for the English language requirement, but all the same, it gives an idea of the scale. I can keep this placeholder updated as these values change.

I am a bit concerned that it has now been 8 weeks and the money was deducted on the 10th of October and I have not heard anything yet. Is this unusual ? I had emailed the Nationality email address and they told me that no decision has yet been made.

For the period Sept 26th-30th I've found 13 applications in this forum that were received by the UKBA in those dates. Of those only six have been decided so far - that we know of.
