Hi,

Could any one help me with my query.

Myself and my wife have ILR and we have 3 month old baby born before we got ILR.

IN MN1 there is referee section i am unable to get someone to sign from professional front.

Is it profession referee required?

Can i apply without it?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Prashant

Get the health visitor from NHS to sign in... considering baby is only 3 month old i know it is difficult.

And what was the reason? Honestly i do not understand why they would decline! Who knows the child that young 'professionally' other than health visitor is what any sane person would think. Looking at the age of the baby it is really tough to get professional reference.. have you tried someone from some temple? as Minister of religion is also considered as professional reference. Also I do not know whether there is any discretion that is applicable looking at the age of the applicant. IMHO there should be but i do not know.

Hi manyaonisland,

I am in the same boat as well. My baby is 13 months old. GP and Health visitors are not signing, he hasnt got a teacher. Also asked the temple trustee and he denied saying we don't want to be a part of this hassle (the laws are strict etc etc), by the way this is the temple whose priest did the formal child naming ceremony for us. The 4th refereee, social services, we don't know any. As I see from the previous posts, this is an issue a lot of people face.

Nevertheless, I will give it my best and do as much as I can. Finally I plan to also write to HO explaining this kind of a situation.

Hi,

I recently got MN1 for my 20 months old son. MY GP also refused to sign. but i got it signed by my friend who is director of a VAT registered limited company and my son got his citizenship certificate within 2 weeks. the second referee was a family friend who is british citizen.

Hope this help you!

Cheers

i understand..

my daughter, who is 27 months old and does not go to school yet. she does however go to library for sessions along with other toddlers.. we spoke to library manager and she was kind enough to provide the reference as she was not related to child and is engage in the professional capacity. So i have gone ahead with that and have applied on MN1.. Money has been taken from my account last Friday so .. watch the space!!
fingers (and toes!) crossed!

All the best manyaonisland!.

Thanks animm for your suggestion. I am trying to get it done from a temple. If thats not possible then I will get a friend of mine to sign it as well (who happens to be a Director of a company and British).

Will post on the outcome.

Girish.

Hello there
having seen some similar discussion about this, I think you can send it without a referee but explain why? the other or better option is to get someone who can guarantee your identity but not related to you and have a british passport to sign it. explain that in the further info (page 13 of the form)
