Tier 1 Entrepreneur and British Citizenship

Hi there,
From April 2011, a tier one entrepreneur is able to get ILR in just 3 years and with 180 days/year absentees allowed. But on British citizenship requirements, you must have to be here for 5 years plus no more 90 days absentees per year. This confuses me. Does it mean that a tier 1 entrepreneur can get ILR in 3 years with those extra absentees but he can't apply for citizenship as he doesn't qualify for the absentees required for citizenship and also just 4 years residence i.e. 3 years + 1 year ILR, as BC requires few absentees and 5 year residential period?

There are different rules for ILR and citizenship and it is possible to meet the requirements for the former but not the latter (Tie1- Entrepreneur is not the only case. There are other visa categories that have similar issues).
This just means you could apply for citizenship after couple of years with ILR.

Just to clarify the current rules for citizenship are less than 450 absences in total for the 5 years (not 90 a year) including less than 90 days in the last year.
