Guys...I am in little bit dilemma...I have recently changed job and living at the current address just over a year now...so at new job i know people only since just last month...and current GP etc dont know me more that a year.. Most of my friends are professional people but they are not Biritish citizen yet..so cant take there signutres?

One of friend is MBA from university in UK and does private consulting (contracor) job with one of well known company...I called IPS and they said that should be ok...but it would be good if I get him to write a cover letter saying that he does private consutlign job and not a permamnent employee with any company.but he said that to apply using Check and send so the things will be checked before I applu

I am just little bit worried from his last sentence if this would be ok...the IPS website says the list of job titles given there are for example...and counter signatory has to be a profeession or a person with good standing in the community...and some times i think ppl with MBA degree are deifnitely highly qualified and professional standing...

What is your opinion guys? Is it risk taking this friend as a referee

Hi Nazia88 thanks yes, Luckily i got a chance to get it done today...I cant believe something gone so easy and quikcly in this tedious process... I have been calling to the council sine last week...and got a chance today which was totally unexpected...i started calling even before i received the letter...though i was worried about the decision but i was feeling confident inside...

May be i will just take my this friends reference... as IPS advisor even if for any reason this reference is not considred then they will simply send me a new form and ask to get counter signed by some one else...my application will not be rejected nor i have to pay again...so which is positive thing...i just dont want to cause delays..so just thinking about this...

One thing though IPS advisors are so nice they explain things so clearly and are willing to talk untill your qureies are done...I think this is the difference between services offeredto Biritsh citiznes and other citizens living in the UK...

Nazia88...I hope and sure you will get your application result very soon...all the best wishes for you...

Ask him to write his job as Consultant (self employed) to ..name of company and to give the address of that company in the employers column along with saying that he is self employed.

Thanks gidoc...so are you saying cover letter signed by him is not needed, just putting details in the section is enough, right?

Yes, no need for a letter. IPS will check the credentials from his passport details, so they have to be accurate.
