Hi,

just a quick question, I'm an EEA national, from the Czech Republic, can i apply for british citizenship on the basis of residency ( i've lived in the UK for about 9 years) or do I have to apply on the basis of being an EEA national exersizing treaty rights?

Any replies appreciated

On which immigration category have you been in the UK? UK rules or EEA rules? Have you got ILR?

I have an ILR which I got in 2003, before Czech Republic joined the EU so I think I've been here under the UK rules rather than EEA

As you already have ILR, you are able to apply based on your residency. You will need to meet the standard requirements. No need to show that you are exercising EU treaty rights.
