Hi All!
Ive been searching the forum for the last few days, but unfortunately haven't found answer to my question. Im still looking for an answer...
I'm an EEA national, came to UK in August 2004, I've been in employment for the last seven years, however in 2008 I also became a student and I'm still studying I laso work at the same time( I work on the bank for NHS, about 30-40 hours a month sometimes less, but have P60's for the last 7 years)My question is am eligible to apply for naturalisation? Ive never had CSI, will this be a problem if can proof that Ive been in employment at the same time?
Iwasnt sure and applied for PR just to make sure that my time as a students counts to the 6 years. I got my PR in August 2011, does this mean that I didnt need the CSI for PR and wont need it for naturalisation? i also contacted the UKBA, but they are very inconsistent, spoke to 4 different people and got 4 different answers!!! I was also suggested to wait for a year and then appply, but what difference would this make?
So confused....
I would be really happy if I could get some answers, dont know who else I can ask?
Thank you

If you did work part-time while being a student, then you would not have required CSI. The fact that the HO confirmed your PR status confirms that.

You can either wait for August 2012 or apply now. If you apply now, you will need to provide the same evidence you provided on the EEA3 application (5 years of P60). If you apply in August 2012, you don't need to provide evidence of exercising treaty rights as you can use PR sticker as evidence.

When filling in form AN for naturalisation, there is a section for EEA nationals (section 2.4) which is relevant if you apply now. As long as you state you have exercised your rights as a worker and provide P60's for that period, there is no need for CSI.

You will need to pass the Life in the UK test and meet the standard requirements before applying.

Hi!
Thanks for replaying!
Yes I'm thinking of applaying now as I have all the documentation needed, I ve already passed the test and Ibelieve I meet the reqirements.
I'm not quite sure about the section2.4 in the AN form, they want me to show on what basis I was in the UK for the last 6 years. Do I need to give info about being a worker and a student (I did state that I'm a worker and a student in my pr application) or do I only say about being a worker. When I phoned UKBA they advised me only to provide info about employment and not mention studying (they said that as soon as I mention studying they will want proof of CSI), but will this not be wItholding of information?

I would incline to put worker for the whole period. If it was all for one employer than it would be just one line in the table for the whole period.

It would not be withholding information as the question is on what basis have you been exercising treaty rights. You have the choice what to put down if you can prove it.

I don't know how this work in the HO but the nationality team who evaluates naturalisation applications are less knowledgeable than the European case team on EEA regulations so better to make it simple for them.

I know what you mean, I have exercised treaty rights in employment, I've worked for more than one employer over the years but it shouldn't make any difference as long as I have evidence, I think?
I stll don't know what to do I need to think about it and make a decision, I think it is worth trying!
Thanks for your help!
Has anyone else been in similar situation as myself? It would be interesting to find out if you were succesful in your application or not?

For further reference for anyone who is in the same situation as I was.
I decided to apply for British Citizenship in October 2011. I disclosed all information regarding work and study. My application has been successful, it was worth trying!
Thanks Jambo for your help
