British passport application check and send

Hey everyone,
Hope you all are ok, I have one query, I am about to apply for british passport soon, I asked one of the post office's staff about the passport application check and send service and what sort of documents needed to bring with me as I could not figure out exactly while reading the guidelines provided, he mentioned thinks like old passport (tick), naturalisation certificate (tick), prove of immigration status (tick), then he mentioned parents birth certificate !!! where do I get this from, I even do not possess my own birth certificate yet my parents who live far away, any one with similar experience? please share it if you have any idea what shall I do, thanks in advance.
