My grantfather is a naturalized British citizen. He was born in Jamaica in 1931. He has 2kids born in Jamaica and 3 kids born in the UK. My father was born in Jamaica. Is my father a British citizen because of his father status and can I get British residency through my father?

You father may be British by descent if your GF was British at the time of your father's birth (not having naturalized later) and was married to your mother. But as citizenship by descent stops after one generation it means that you will not be British even it it transpires that your father is.

When was your father born? Was your grandfather married at the time? Where were you born?

British citizenship law is very complicated. Lucapooka is not fully correct in his statement.
